On Wednesday 22nd February 8 pupils from Phases 4 and 5 went to visit Scale Space at White City.
Blenheim Chalcot is a big company that helps small businesses grow. Scale Space is one of their businesses which promotes team work between different companies. They have got offices around the world; London, India, USA and South Africa.
We watched videos about what they do and we even got the chance to share our video of our small café business… Manoj, the co-founder of Blenheim Chalcot said he was inspired by our video.
Manoj Badale is a successful businessman. He spoke to us about Scale Space and wanted us to ‘feel at home’. Two things Manoj wanted us to remember were to: ‘Dream big and keep learning’. Walid said: “This is motivational!”
We learned about different job roles in Blenheim Chalcot and Scale Space and toured the building to meet new people who work there. We met: Anekka who was the building manager, Asha who is a singer songwriter, Natalie – Social media and outreach, Hannah – recruitment, Chef Jarome from catering, Panji – A photographer and videographer as well as ICT, cleaners, and front of house staff and learned about their jobs and asked them questions.
Chef Jarome cooked us a delicious lunch which included: Spring rolls, chicken skewers, arancini balls and tempura prawns – We were looked after really well!
We made a really good first impression and hope to gain some work experiences with the businesses. We even got the opportunity to meet Jos Buttler the England Cricket Captain!
Thank you to all of the staff at Blenheim Chalcot and Scale Space for making us feel so welcome and giving us their time so we can learn about the world of work.
