We identified who inspired us in the community: actor, a footballer, a policeman, a gardener, a photographer, a chef and a cleaner in whose role they felt they could fit into when they grow up. We then interviewed adults with these roles to see how they carried out their job to make a difference in our health, safety and society. We explored this further through role play and photography, practising new skills. We were so proud of our work and photography skills that we turned our class into a gallery and displayed all the photos to the whole community on the 9th of July. It was a pure delight to see the pupils as exhibition guides. We even sold our work as calendars, postcards, greeting cards and book marks!
To enhance the experience, we did a pop-up café and sold delicious cakes and hot beverages all made by the pupils to raise money to donate to charities. We thank all who have helped us in making our gallery a success. It was a day to remember!
