On Sunday 30th May Pupils from Phase 5 took part in the Hazlemere Gardening Association plant sale. Pupils were selected for their dedication to their role as members of the Gardening Team in their Wednesday employment sessions in school. Jessica and Jemma have demonstrated excellent motivation and independence in the garden, so our gardening specialist Lisa invited them to represent John Chilton School at the sale. Pupils interacted well with members of the public, selling tomato, chilli, cucumber and cauliflower plants that were grown in the school allotment. They used communication and money handling skills and learned about customer service! Jess and Jemma also had the chance to meet some of the members of the association who have made donations to our school in the form of seeds and pots as well as some award winning dahlia tubers. The money made on our stall will be used to buy resources to further improve our garden.
