Progress and Achievement

At John Chilton School we measure pupil outcomes in these ways:

  • The progress of pupils over time, between Key Stages 1-2 and 2-4. Work here is moderated on an annual basis with colleagues from other special schools.
  • The progress of all pupils in subjects over the year. Ambitious targets are set for each individual in maths and English which is tracked and evaluated each term and interventions implemented where necessary.
  • The progress of all pupils in Education, Health and Care Plan targets. Personalised targets are set annually for pupils in Cognition and Learning; Communication and Interaction; Social, Emotional and Mental Health and Sensory, Motor and Physical. These are measured and monitored each term.

Performance Data from the Government

In addition to the school data here, Gov.Uk provides a Data Dashboard that gives a snapshot of performance in a school, college or other further education and skills providers. The dashboard can be used by Governors, Staff, Parents and members of the public to check the performance of the school in relation to other pupils’ performance in England. You can find the JCS Data Dashboard here:
