Jennifer Flanigan - Chair of Governors
I am honoured to be the Chair of Governors at John Chilton School. I have six children – two with SEN. Our family has French and U.S. nationalities, and I was a corporate lawyer in New York and Paris before moving to London a few years ago. Prior to joining the JCS Governing Board in 2019, I was a governor at another Special school in Ealing. I have also served on a number of other boards, including at two French schools, and worked as general counsel for a small French university. I hope my background can be an asset to JCS.

Steve Garry - Community Governor
I joined the Governing Body of the school in February 2017. Previously I worked as a senior Finance Executive in the Telecommunications industry for 20 years and then for 10 years as a Maths Teacher in a state comprehensive school. This previous experience gives me a unique set of financial and educational skills which I hope to use to good effect for The John Chilton School. Now that I am a stay at home dad with two teenage children I serve as a Governor at two schools and I am also a Trustee of a Legal Aid Charity.

I have spent many years in the world of education; as a qualified teacher; a volunteer in my children’s schools; as a student 5 years ago at the Institute of Education to achieve a Masters in Special and Inclusive Education, and most recently and currently as a SENCo at an independent primary school in west London. I have also worked in retail for several years and ran a small business. Emma Perkins
It has been an honour and privilege to work at John Chilton School for the past 18 years. I have had varying job roles throughout my time at John Chilton, which has given me a wealth of knowledge and experience. I have seen how dedicated and passionate our staff are in their commitment to the pupils becoming confident, motivated and independent adults when they leave school. I am currently supporting Phase 5 with their Preparation for Adulthood. I run the School Council, organize social events for our pupils and their families and run the After School Club. I look forward to making a real contribution to the strategic management of the school and working alongside other members of the Governing Board to ensure that the work we do can fulfil our duties to all the pupils.
