Inclusion

All of the pupils at John Chilton are involved in an inclusion programme with the mainstream school with which we share our building. This programme of inclusion is designed to meet both the social and academic needs of the pupils. In the early years pupils integrate in small groups with adult support. As confidence and ability increase many of our pupils are able to work full time in the mainstream primary school with support

At high school level many of our pupils follow a full time programme of integration with support as necessary. Those who are less able to benefit from a mainstream curriculum are taught mainly by John Chilton teachers with individual and group integration where possible and appropriate
